The Blind Method

Before You Begin

Please take a few minutes to read through this page before starting the Listening Lab. We want this experience to be approached with wisdom, humility, and care.

The Blind Method isn't designed to prove whether someone can "hear from God." It's designed to create space to practice recognizing His voice.

Sometimes you may receive a detail that is immediately measurable. Other times what you sense may be more about God's heart, encouragement, or perspective. And sometimes you'll simply leave with more questions than answers.

A measurable detail — even one that proves accurate — doesn't automatically mean every impression you recorded came from God. In the same way, an inaccurate detail doesn't necessarily mean God wasn't speaking elsewhere in the conversation.

Learning to recognize God's voice is a process of discernment, not a formula.

This is true whether you're practicing with a concealed person, praying for someone face-to-face, or reading Scripture and asking the Holy Spirit for understanding. We are always growing in wisdom, discernment, and dependence on Him.

Because of Christ, we have the incredible invitation to draw near to God, to ask, seek, and knock, and to learn to recognize the voice of our Shepherd.

So don't make this exercise about performance or perfection. Make it about relationship.

Stay in conversation with God. Let each practice lead you deeper into wonder, deeper into love, and deeper into dependence on the Holy Spirit.

As you pray for people you've never met and places you've never seen, you're not merely practicing prophecy — you are learning to search out the heart of God.

In the end, that's the real adventure.

Practice Conversation with God

Choose a concealed person or place and begin a conversation with God.

You don't need to answer every prompt — follow the conversation.

Ask God questions such as:

• Describe their features
• What does God love about them?
• What are the gifts and skills do they carry?
• What are they called to?
• What sphere do they currently influence?
• What's in God's heart regarding their future?

Write what you sense. Then reveal the identity.

Why We're Doing This

Every person in this database was intentionally created by God to bear His image.

Whether someone is a president or a prisoner, a CEO or a celebrity, someone you admire or someone you deeply disagree with, we believe God knows them, loves them, and desires them to flourish according to His good purposes.

Including someone in this exercise is not an endorsement of their beliefs, actions, or character. It is simply an acknowledgment that every person has immeasurable value because they were created and loved by God.

Our hope and prayer is that, as you grow in recognizing God's voice, every practice conversation would also become an act of intercession and blessing for the people and places you practice with.
